At this time there is a dire need to have a road that swings back from Puertocitos and reconnects with the Desert Corridor. Ideally it would travel from Tijuana South through La Paz. Everyone who has ventured through this area knows exactly what this would mean. No such access exists today between the serenity of San Felipe and the elaborateness of Ensenada. Soon, this is to be but a memory. The stretch of road that links these two spectacular cities hosts well over 150,000 tourists each year and is approximately 111km. There is such a rise in people seeking out the fantastic real estate that looks out at majestic sunsets and spectacular ocean views that the need to improve upon this road is has long been overdue.
There are 7 sections that make up the San Felipe Corridor (which begins North of San Felipe). They are divided into North, San Felipe, Corridor Sur, Percebu, Delicias, San Juan De Los Lagos, and Puertocitos. The plans to expand this well traveled area into a pleasurable 4 lane road are already under way. This entire area is a Priority Federal Zone. This means it is supported by a raise in property taxes, and Aqueduct with enough water to last until 2020, and an electrical infrastructure.
The San Felipe Corridor’s development is wonderful just in itself. But what about Baja’s Maritime Corridor? There is future planning of 10 new ports of call currently in effect. The already popular coastal travel and business in this huge area of Baja is sure to be only enhanced by this project. The ports designated to be first are Ensenada, Punta San Carlos, Santa Maria, Santa Rosalita, Bahia De Los Angeles, San Luis Gonzaga, Puertos Penascos, and most importantly San Felipe. The vast improvements will ultimately end in the State of Sonora. Due to the potential for new business, ease of travel, and enhancement of an already popular Baja, developers and real estate investors are on the edge of their seat. The splendor of San Felipe and the surrounding areas will soon be more accessible than ever. |
